Paul De Martini
Paul De Martini is a leading expert on the business, policy and technology dimensions of a more distributed power system. His work draws upon a unique set of successful executive experiences in transforming utility operations, building successful competitive energy services firms and growing technology ventures. His extensive writings and consulting work have influenced industry transformation efforts in Australia, Canada, and across the US.
Paul was previously the Chief Technology & Strategy Officer, Energy Internet of Things at Cisco Systems and Vice President, Advanced Technology at Southern California Edison. Paul earlier led North American sales and marketing for one of the largest competitive integrated energy services firms. He began his career at PG&E in electric system operations, T&D engineering and construction, and power marketing.
Currently, he is a visiting scholar at Caltech and adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco. Paul holds an MBA, University of Southern California and BS, Applied Economics, University of San Francisco.
Eric brings an extensive knowledge and insights of the electric utility industry as the former chief strategist at EEI for retail energy delivery, providing national leadership on issues involving adaptive business strategy, alternative regulation, and cost of capital. He is an expert on business and regulatory policy issues associated with grid modernization, the growth of distributed energy at scale, and the changing role of utilities in the market. Eric has focused on key issues related rate reform, new market rules, regulatory models that allow increased pricing flexibility, new resource planning and next-generation performance based regulatory incentives.
Andrew De Martini
Andrew is a research analyst and technical writer with extensive experience producing and editing client project deliverables and publication of white papers. He has supported development of US DOE’s Modern Grid Report (DSPx), Caltech’s Grid 2020 report, California’s More Than Smart report, several Edison Electric Institute papers as well as other national lab reports. Andrew attended Boston University.

Ken brings extensive experienced based on his prior roles at Hawaiian Electric leading the transformation of their electric system as Director of T&D Planning and earlier in corporate strategic planning. Ken is a professional engineer.
Chris’ is an industry leader on operational communications leveraging deep industry experience at Silver Springs Networks, PG&E and Intel spanning technology product development, deep telecommunications, venture, and industry standard. This experience gives him a unique set of skills and knowledge that can be applied to help companies ranging from new start-ups to those looking to scale post IPO. Provides consulting services for technology and product development executives in requirements, design, and planning for utility field area networks for distribution automation and DER integrations.
Dale brings extensive industry experience as an independent consultant and former senior officer with PG&E to clients on a wide range of energy industry engagements including distributed business models and grid modernization. He is also an expert on energy trading risk management policies and procedures, risk management and system audits and assessments. Dale also supports energy (electric and gas) procurement proposals, providing guidance on deal structures, pricing and risk exposures. He also brings extensive utility rate case development, including drafting testimony, developing underlying analytics and responding to data requests.
